Along the route you will see daily village life — palm sugar, tofu, tempeh, and rubber production, and bamboo weaving for home building. Conversations with local residents offer a direct look at Indonesian culture, just a half-hour drive from Bukit Lawang.

Enjoy the rice paddies with Gunung Leuser National Park as a backdrop. Ask your driver to stop if you would like to watch locals planting rice in the fields.
