Your guide will pick you up at 09:00 from your accommodation to begin a forest trek in Bukit Lawang.
On the way
You will walk along the river, climb a hill, and pass through rubber plantations on the way to the entrance of Gunung Leuser National Park.
Park entrance
Once you enter the forest, you may have the chance to see semi-wild Sumatran orangutans.
On the trail
You will have time to watch them swing through the trees as they care for their young.
Mid-morning · Rest stop
After a snack of tropical fruits, continue through the jungle to look for other wildlife, including long-tailed macaques, pig-tailed macaques, and Thomas's leaf monkeys.
Late morning · Return
Towards the end of the trek, you will arrive at the foot of Bukit Lawang and be guided back to your accommodation.
