Explore Local Life With Village Tour
This half-day tour will take you on a cultural journey to explore traditional activities and interact with the locals. Tour the village by traditional becak / tuk-tuk , then explore the beautiful rice fields. Get a sneak peek into daily village life and stop by to watch the traditional, homemade production of tofu, tempe and palm sugar. Learn more about traditional crafts, such as thatched roofs made from palm (sagu) leaves. On Fridays, you can also visit the traditional market! Feel free to ask your guide to learn all about village life. At the end of the tour, enjoy a fresh drink or some freshly harvested coconut water!

Activity Description
You’ll leave Bukit Lawang to explore small traditional villages in the countryside and take in the vast rice paddy landscapes to witness the amazing irrigation system in action. You’ll have the chance to enjoy the beautiful scenery of the rice paddies with Gunung Leuser National Park as the backdrop. Ask your driver to stop if you’d like to observe how the locals plant rice in the fields. Along the way, you’ll see how the villagers go about their daily lives and how they produce palm sugar, tofu, tempeh, and rubber, or how they weave bamboo for their homes. Guided conversations with the villagers will immerse you in Indonesian culture, just a half-hour drive from Bukit Lawang.The unforgettable taste drink (freshly harvested coconut water or another drink) will be offered to you. Please note this your tour exclude lunch in the tour price.
