Activity Description
DAY 1: At 9:00 a.m. our English-speaking guide will pick you up at your accommodation. After a short walk, you will enter the Gunung Leuser National Park area of the Sumatran rainforest. As you hike up and down the hills toward the western side of the national park, your guide will point out various species of animals and plants while providing detailed explanations about the rainforest and its biodiversity. If you’re lucky, you might spot gibbons, Thomas’s leaf monkeys, long-tailed macaques, pig-tailed macaques, flying squirrels, Sumatran peacocks, hornbills, and even wild orangutans along the way. In the afternoon, around 3:30 PM, you’ll arrive at the Jambur Batu River, where you’ll spend the night at the campsite. Now you can swim, relax, and enjoy your afternoon coffee and tea. Our team will prepare your jungle dinner featuring local Indonesian cuisine. In the evening, you’ll have the chance to play games or simply gaze at the stars and reflect on the first day of your journey. Mosquito net, mattresses, pillows, and blanket will ensure a comfortable night in the jungle.
DAY 2: You will wake up to the sounds of monkeys, birds, and insects around the camp—an unforgettable experience. After breakfast, you will begin a 5–6-hour trek. The more you venture into the rainforest, the greater your chances of spotting wildlife. For lunch, your guide will prepare a simple jungle meal at the top of a hill. The amazing views along the journey through the national park will make your afternoon unforgettable. Our team will set up camp for the second night on the edge of the magnificent Bohorok River and serve a delicious Indonesian dinner along with refreshing drinks. Enjoy the evening in your jungle tent playing cards or staring at the night sky. Being in the jungle at night is a completely different experience; there are different animals, different sounds, and of course, a sky full of stars.
DAY 3: In the morning, you’ll wake up once again to the sounds of the jungle. If you’re lucky, you might spot Sumatran monitor lizards, turtles, and colorful river butterflies around the campsite. After a yummy breakfast, you can decide to go on another 3-hour hike or just chill at the stunning waterfall near the campsite. Lunch and a wild fruit salad will be served before you head back to the village for an hour of fun! Your “jungle taxi,” along with a private captain, will take you back to your lodge via a traditional rafting trip down the Bohorok River—a truly special and excited way to end your trekking adventure through the Sumatran jungl
