Day 1: At 9:00 AM, our English-speaking guide will pick you up at your accommodation to begin your overnight trekking adventure in the forest. After a short walk, you’ll enter the Gunung Leuser National Park area. You’ll continue trekking through the rainforest while observing wildlife passing through the forest. You’ll take a short break to enjoy fresh fruit provided by our guide. Then you’ll hike for about 2 more hours before stopping for lunch amidst the cool forest atmosphere. During this 2-day trek, you’ll venture deeper into the forest, and your guide will point out various types of animals and plants while providing detailed explanations about the rainforest and its biodiversity. If you’re lucky, you might spot gibbons, Thomas’s leaf monkeys, pig-tailed macaques, flying squirrels, Sumatran peacocks, hornbills, and even wild orangutans along the way.
Around 4:00 PM, you’ll arrive at a campsite near the river where you’ll spend the night.

You’ll have time to relax with a cup of coffee or tea, go for a swim, and rest while your dinner is being prepared; you’ll have the chance to play games, or simply gaze at the stars and reflect on the first day of your journey. Being in the forest at night is a truly different experience—there are different animals, different sounds, and of course, a stunning sky full of stars. Mosquito net , mattresses, pillows, and blanket will ensure a comfortable night’s sleep in the jungle.

Day 2: The next morning, you’ll wake up to the sounds of the forest. You’ll have a great chance to spot Sumatran monitor lizards, turtles, and colorful river butterflies around the campsite. After breakfast, you can choose to go on another 3-hour hike or simply relax at the stunning waterfall near the campsite. After a light lunch, it’s time to head back to Bukit Lawang. And there’s more excitement in store as your “jungle taxi” takes you back to Bukit Lawang via a traditional rafting trip while you enjoy the beauty of the Bohorok River.
