Easy Trek for All Ages
This short half day trek is the perfect option for traveller limited times or families with young children, people who don’t feel like they’re fit enough for a long trek or those who are on a tight schedule. This trek will take you at the entrance of the rainforest and gives you chances to spot semi-wild Orangutans and other wildlife if you’re lucky. Watch them and their babies swinging in the trees.

Activity Description
Our guide will pick you up at 09.00 am in your accommodation to begin a one-day forest trek in Bukit Lawang.. You’ll walk along the river, then climb a hill and pass through rubber plantations on your way to the entrance of Gunung Leuser National Park.
Once you enter the forest, you might have the chance to see semi-wild Sumatran orangutans if you’re lucky. You’ll have time to watch them swing through the trees while caring for their babies! This breathtaking sight will stay with you forever. After a yummy snack of tropical fruits, keep walking through the jungle to discover other amazing wildlife such as Long Tail Macaques, Pig Tail Macaques and Thomas Leaf Monkeys! Towards the end of your trek you will arrive at the foot of Bukit Lawang and will be guided back to your accomodation.
